Professor Torrente is Professor of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.
She teaches core Chemical Engineering subjects in the Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Tripos that are directly related to her research interests such as Reaction Engineering, Separation Processes, Process Simulations and Design.
Professor Torrente's research focuses on the development of novel sustainable chemical processes by combining aspects of catalysis, reaction engineering and process integration. Her group is pioneering technologies for the long-term storage of renewable energy, the defossilisation of the chemical industry and the manufacturing of emerging materials.
